Field Trip to the Field Museum of Natural History
To culminate our study on Native Americans, the third graders went to the Field Museum on Nov. 30, 2017. We received a guided tour of the Pawnee Earth Lodge where we got to see and touch authentic Pawnee items, like buffalo skin blankets, a sled made of ribs, and spoons from buffalo horns. It was cool!
Before and after the tour we saw some other exhibits according to our interests, like the Northwest Coastal people and the Evolving Planet. But there's always more to see! (If your family would like to go for FREE to this or other museums, check out the passes from your local Chicago Public Library at the checkout desk.)
